Gone are the days when people have to wait for passport months together after application. I received my passport today. For all those who intend to contact third parties in applying passport, I would say that's the worst thing you do now a days coz everything can be done by one's own effort<not much there's a tutorial for everything>. My suggestion for those wanting to apply for tatkal is go for it if there's any real urgency<all those forms gathering, higher official endorsement could be a headache> because even a normal application now a days takes a less time(19days~ideal for waiting time). Here's my timeline regarding the stages after application
1.JULY 2 2013-Submitted docs at PSK,Begumpet.
2.JULY 7 2013-Police Verification Done at home (Bribery affected.Irony is they call it fee)
3.JULY 19 2013-Got message as passport dispatched via speed post.
4.JULY 20 2013-Received it.(Bribery affected. The Post Man's collection)
When I tracked the status from 7th to 19th. It underwent transition like Pending police verification,Verified file received at Commissioner Office, Passport printing to be done,passport printed,Dispatched with No...
Thanks to the officials, for speeding up the process the recent times. A sign of efficacious function :)
