Posting this after a long time... The purpose of this post is to enlighten and educate those appearing for campus placements and are very much interested in cracking it. Usually a company would select candidates based upon the performance in written test, group discussion(optional) and interview(compulsory). So let me throw some light on these.

1. Written Tests are very easy.... the basics that'll  be asked must be brushed up before a week(Rely on YouTube videos... go through each of the topics like syllogism, time and work, dice problems etc.,. How do we know about the topics??? Search for previous placement papers ... there are many websites which provide those. Usually written tests consists of quantitative, analytical reasoning and verbal ability.  The good news is there'll be very less cutoff and the bad news is if there is a sectional cutoff one has to perform in a way all the sectional cutoffs are met.

2. Group Discussion: Most of the Indian students are afraid of this. The only requirement company sees in an individual is how well and how long can a student speak; we just cant speak one liners and feel that we have done our job perfectly. My suggestion is grab the opportunity speak within the stipulated time; when someone argues about your point -convince him with placid nature(don't let it go).

3. Interview: Having Cracked the above 2 rounds its usually believed the 3rd round would be a cake walk but we cannot be sure. The confidence level obviously increases and might help in cracking the interview. On the other hand the interviewer might ask that one topic we haven't prepared. So the thing that has to be kept in mind is that "one must sell himself" to the interviewer. Even if you cannot answer a question insist the interviewer to ask you more questions and if you are lucky you might land up answering those thereby giving a good impression. Another important thing that has to be kept in mind is that not all interviewers are same( This is the irony of placements!!): Some would ask only technical questions(most of us feel difficult); some would just ask HR questions. The only thing we as students can do is prepare for both.

*Always prepare puzzles before going to a interview(Interviewers some times would do a google search for puzzling questions) Eg: 3 bulbs 3 switches puzzle .

*Never make fun in the interview; being jovial is ok.
*Prepare all the coding logics(basic level questions will be asked eg:sorting, swapping etc)
*If u can't convince him; confuse him.
*Ask questions before leaving.
*Sometimes being frank can cost you but that's the best virtue.
*Never analyse yourself while answering the question(Doing two things at a time is harmful)
* Be bold. Never show you are weak.
* Always show enthusiasm for the job. eg: interest in higher studies might not help you in an interview
*Believe your potential; if you aren't selected that's not the end of the world... There's always something better for you, just equip yourself with better knowledge and aim for the next attempt with more confidence.
ALL THE BEST.
